Hell, Ross Douthat makes me miss Morley Safer’s annual diatribes on modern art. (To be completely fair, Douthat appears to be extremely cleaned up here: every other time I’ve seen him, he gives serious “fiftysomething Cat Piss Man suing the local anime convention to force them to end his permanent ban” energy.)
If you want to kill legacy media, let Bari Weiss write the instruction manual. She appears to be a thought leader in that arena. I grew up watching Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, and Morley Safer. I know what real reporting looks like. I'll look for it elsewhere.
This is also the same news program that trotted out the worst secdef in history for a propaganda puff piece, and two pilots who wanted nothing to do with it.
“Perhaps [Hegseth] and Weiss are just good friends, and he stopped by for a quick chat.” That could well be. If Hegseth were going to have a lesbian buddy, the only better one would be Alice Weidel. But *she* might find him unbearably stupid and boring.

Any reader with a pulse knows that after the author uses the word regime to describe the stories subject what it to follow is a hackish hit job.

There’s no such thing as plain stupidity. That’s why it’s so difficult to conquer.
